Boise Spuds 18 21 .462 DIV -6 WC -5 L10: 4-6 Strk: L3

Oof. Boise fans see their confidence in their team evaporate as they go 1-6 in a consequential Sim. It was put up or shut up and the Spuds didn't make a peep. The noise you did hear was the city of Boise growing more exhausted with the state of the franchise under GM Ben Teague. It also was the parting of the JL between the real contenders and those on the outside looking in. Boise has the pleasure of heading the latter group.

v Mexico City Aztecs 4-5 L SP Thomas Turner (L) - 7.0 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 2 BB, 1 K
Before heading into 2 consequential series the Spuds faced the Aztecs in the finale of a series where the had won the first two games. Boise forgot to take care of business falling 5-4. Turner got roughed up for 4 runs in the first inning but that would be all he surrendered. It was just too much for the Spuds offense which scored twice in the 9th to get within a run but ultimately fell short.

v Calgary Pioneers 5-6(10) L SP Niegloslaw Woywitka (ND) - 5.0 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 2 BB, 4 K
v Calgary Pioneers 1-4 L SP Dan Boman (L) - 5.2 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 2 BB, 1 K
v Calgary Pioneers 14-2 W SP Josh 'Kid' Clark (W) - 8.0 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 3 K
Here came the moment to keep up with the neighbors and Boise wasn't up to the challenge. There were two close games before the Spuds took out their frustrations on the Pioneers with a 14-2 shellacking, but the damage was done as Calgary won the series in the first two close games. Woywitka continued his 2063 struggles allowing 5 runs in 5 innings. Boise was able to recover and send the game to extras but the Pioneers got the winning run in the top of the 10th. Calgary DH Michael Little did most of the damage going 2-4 with 4 RBI and 2 HR. Pioneers SP Bob English completely handcuffed the Spuds offense allowing only 1 run in 6 innings of work.

@ Las Vegas Hustlers 1-3 L SP Mahad 'Furball' Einan (L) - 7.0 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 2 BB, 2 K
@ Las Vegas Hustlers 4-5(11) L Turner (ND) - 6.2 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 0 BB, 4 K
@ Las Vegas Hustlers 0-5 L Woywitka (L) - 3.0 IP, 5 R, 1 BB, 2 K
Boise limped into Las Vegas and that's precisely not how they want to approach the Hustlers. 'Furball' had a superior game to open the series but Vegas SP Claudio Rodríguez was just that much better in a low scoring Hustlers victory. The 2nd game was another close one that went to extras with the teams tied at 4 and Las Vegas got the walkoff with a Jorge Madrid RBI single. The finale saw yet another terrible outing from Woywitka, one that may put his status in the rotation at risk, as he allowed 5 runs in only 3 innings. The bullpen shut out the Hustlers for the remainder of the game but a spectacular shutout by Vegas SP Owen Geddes secured the Spuds fate and earned the Hustlers a series sweep.
