Boise stepped tentatively into Sim #3 finishing up a series in Calgary then hosting the feared Las Vegas Hustlers at The Grigg before welcoming Austin to town. That large sigh in the middle of the Sim was the Spuds actually winning the series vs said Hustlers so we can call the season now.

@ Calgary Pioneers L 5-8 SP Niegloslaw Woywitka (L) - 4 G, 4 GS, 0-4, 8.47 ERA, 17.0 IP, 2.5 K/BB, 2.12 WHIP, +0.2 WAR
@ Calgary Pioneers L 2-4 SP Dan Boman (L) - 3 G, 3 GS, 2-1, 4.00 ERA, 18.0 IP, 3.0 K/BB, 1.33 WHIP, +0.2 WAR
Woywitka is struggling in the first month of 2063 and his struggles continued in Calgary where the Spuds had taken the 1st game of a 3-game set. The righty surrendered 6 runs on 11 hits in just 86 pitches and the game was over. The big bad was Ollie Long who went 4-4 with 2 runs scored and 3 RBI on a double and HR. Next up for the Spuds was lefty Dan Boman who had a better outing than Woywitka but still not quite a quality one. He gave up 4 runs in 7.0 IP walking only 1 and fanning 5. 4 runs might have been enough, but outside of a double from 1B William Coleman and an unlikely HR from C Ubaid' Furball' bin Saleh the Spuds were toothless.

v Las Vegas Hustlers 3-2(21) W SP Josh 'Kid' Clark (ND) - 4 G, 4 GS, 2-1, 2.55 ERA, 24.2 IP, 3.5 K/BB, 1.30 WHIP, +0.8 WAR
v Las Vegas Hustlers 1-2 L SP Mahad 'Furball' Einan (L) - 4 G, 4 GS, 1-2, 3.63 ERA, 22.1 IP, 1.4 K/BB, 1.25 WHIP, +0.4 WAR
v Las Vegas Hustlers 3-1 W SP Thomas Turner (W) - 4 G, 4 GS, 2-2, 3.28 ERA, 24.2 IP, 1.4 K/BB, 1.26 +0.3 WAR
CL Mario Santos (SV-3) - 5 G, 0-0, 3 SV, 1.12 ERA, 8.0 IP, 7.0 K/BB, 0.62 WHIP, +0.4 WAR
Wow! The Spuds home fans got their money's worth and much, much more. And those who stayed to the end watched an ending from a parallel universe. The pitching in this game was brilliant! Clark surrendered 1 run in 7 IP fanning 7 and walking none. On the other side, SP Jim '91 Cents' Fleming allowed just one run in 5.2 innings of work. The one run for each team would hold up for 20 innings. The Hustlers pushed across a run in the top of the 21st off of P Juan Guzmán but would allow no others and go to the bottom of the inning trailing 2-1. The Spuds were able to get to reliever Claudio Rodríguez for the winning pair of runs. The pitching was so spectacular that the most hits from any player on either team was Boise LF Tsutomu Yamauchi who went 3-8. The next night, the Spuds could get nothing going vs Vegas SP Owen Geddes and 'Furball' was tagged with an unfortunate loss after allowing only 2 runs over 5.1 innings. The two teams continued the trend of close pitching matchups in the finale, but Turner was just that much better shutting out the Hustlers over 8 innings allowing only 5 hits and striking out 4. Santos came in and, though he allowed a run, closed out the game and the Spuds had logged a 2-1 series win at home vs Las Vegas.

v Austin Shredders 4-6 L Woywitka (L)
Woywitka got ambushed in the 3rd inning of the opener vs Austin for 4 runs. That was too much for the Spuds to cover on this night as their only XBH was a double from 2B Fernando Segura. The Shredders also had only one hitter with an XBH but 2B Bill Irvine collected 3 RBI on the evening.
