Boise Spuds 71 88 .447 DIV -17(e) WC -15(e) L10: 4 Strk: W1

One win. One win at home vs Las Vegas was all the Spuds needed to avoid a losing record vs the Gamblers in 2025. Two wins would be amazing. Two wins could possibly start to screw with Vegas' postseason. But just get the one. Could they do it? Would they do it? That's really what the season had boiled down to for Boise.

v Las Vegas 0-5 L SP Muneer bin Khairy (L) - 7.0 IP, 9 H, 4 R, 4 BB, 3 K
v Las Vegas 5-1 W SP Mahad 'Furball' Einan (W) - 7.1 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 7 K
v Las Vegas 4-7 L P Buddhapalita Kankipati (L) - 1.2 IP, 5 H, 6 R, 2 BB, 1 K
v Las Vegas 1-7 L SP Felipe Ledesma (L) - 6.1 IP, 10 H, 5 R, 1 BB, 2 K
Here we go. Well, bin Khary wasn't TOO scary but he didn't rise up to the moment either. Walking 4 Hustlers is not good, but especially not when you also give up 9 hits. That said, it didn't matter. Vegas SP Owen Geddes was stellar shutting out the Spuds in a complete game allowing just 4 hits and walking none. Hustlers 2B Eduard 'Tippy' Faktorovich was 4-4 on the night with an RBI, but RF Tankut Saltik did most of the offensive damage with a 2-run HR in the opening frame. Some veterans just know it's time to step up, and Einan was there for the moment in the 2nd game of the series. Allowing only 3 hits and fanning 7 in 7.1 innings, the righty let GM Ben Teague take a breath. Boise was held in check at the plate until a 2-run 5th and 3-run 6th. As if Vegas is concerned at all with Boise, they may have taken the loss personally as they lit up Kankipati for 6 runs in 1.2 innings and the game was essentially over. Hustler DH Czar Mamatulin was 3-5 on the evening posting a 2-run HR in the 1st inning that was part of Buddha's unraveling. Despite the final stat line, Ledesma continues to prove he has some quality as a starter holding Vegas to 2 runs thru 6 innings in the finale. But singles and doubles got him knocked around in the 7th. Hustler SP Jim '91 Cents' Fleming tied up the Spuds allowing only 2 hits while fanning 9 in 6.1 innings. So, the final tally? Boise 7 to Vegas 7. Tied the season series. One of a very few bright spots the Spuds can look to in 2062.

v Austin 4-3 W P Tariku Jabiri (ND) - 6.1 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 0 BB, 5 K
What an opener for the final series of the year! Jabiri was quality scattering 8 hits to keep things at 3-1 after the 7th. That scored held going into the bottom of the 9th and the Shredders sent closer Nelson Middlebrooks to put a bow on things. But the Spuds had other plans. A single and double set up 2B Fernando Segura to deliver a 2-RBI single and the game was tied. As if the typically helpless at the plate Segura tying things up wasn't enough, SS Dan Raymond collected the walkoff single allowing Segura to race home for the Spuds walkoff win.
