Sim #21 (recap) saw Spuds pitching get stripped and the offense struggling to cover the team's ass. And scoring 4 runs/game typically leads to 3-4 Sims while allowing 5.4 r/g pretty much guarantees them...if the squad is lucky.

Closer Mario Santos just returned from a (another) IL stint from a finger blister, but he takes care of business when he's on the mound converting 2 save opportunities. Has P Juan Guzmán been sandbagging his relief appearances to force his way into the starting lineup? Whatever it is the Argentine keeps spinning lovely turns allowing just 3 runs in 8 innings against San Antonio on the 17th. But Furball is on fire right now and he followed up a 6 innings, 1 run outing in Sim #20 by again allowing just 1 run, in 6.2 innings this time, holding Las Vegas to 6 hits and fanning 5.

The new (to the Spuds) guys have put up really good numbers this season and Sim #21 continued that trend. 1B José Montoya collected a double, triple, and HR in the Sim, while 3B Bill Kuhn drove in 3 runs with 2 doubles and a HR. But Hills just keeps chugging along delivering 4 RBI on 4 doubles and 1 HR on a slash of .280/.308/.560 slash.
