Sim #18 (recap here) was yet another losing one as Boise went 2-4. But they did manage a split in the last series of the Sim against San Antonio so they enter Sim #19 with a 2-game win streak. Yay. Mostly, they exited a bloody 8-18 July to start August 2-2.

Spuds reliever Ed Noble shut out the opposition in 4 innings over 2 appearances and rookie closer Mario Santos collected his 13th and 14th saves, all consecutive. But we can't ignore Leach's gem of a start on the 3rd against San Antonio. He went 6 innings allowing only 3 hits and shutting out the Outlaws with 5 Ks and gets his first SotS nod of the year.

DH Alfonso Rúbio had an excellent Sim driving in 4 runs on a double, triple, and a HR. LF Sebastian 'Nino' Fradesso added 2 doubles and a HR of his own to collect 3 RBI. But the clear offensive star for the Spuds in Sim #18 was Custello. While slashing .348/.375/.783, the second baseman delivered a double and 3 HR to power 6 RBI and added his 13th SB of the season for good measure.
