Boise wins a series! The Spuds closed out Sim #18 with a victory over San Antonio to post a 3-1 record for the series. They next salvaged a series vs Rosenblatt and began a tough road trip in Phoenix with a loss. Boise limps into August in the basement of the JL.
v San Antonio 5-4 W Mahad 'Furball' Einan (ND) - 24 G, 24 GS, 8-11, 4.18 ERA, 137.2 IP, 1.6 K/BB, 1.30 WHIP, +0.8 WAR

Mario Santos suffered his 6th blown save on the year which spoiled a quality start from Einan who went 6.2 innings allowing 3 runs on 9 hits. The offense bailed him out, though, scoring a walkoff win. LF Cosmo Pan delivered the winning run with an RBI single.
v Rosenblatt Bombers 2-4 L Niegloslaw Woywitka (L) - 12 G, 12 GS, 0-11, 8.76 ERA, 50.1 IP, 2.0 K/BB, 1.95 WHIP, -0.7 WAR

Santos SV(18)
A rare great outing from Woywitka was spoiled in the opener as Rosenblatt SP David Molina allowed just 2 runs on 4 hits in 6.2 innings. Woywitka allowed only 3 runs in 5.2 innings. An even better start from Kankipati was spoiled as he tossed 6.0 innings of shutout ball, but Santos suffered a blown save and loss as he gave up a 3-run HR to Bombers SS Badr Isam in the 9th. In the series finale the Spuds avoided the sweep as Kid Clark provided yet another superb game allowing just 3 runs in 6.2 innings of work. Santos held up this time to preserve the 4-3 win.
@ Phoenix Talons 4-6 L Einan (ND)
Abban 'Eeyore' Layar BS(1) - 4 G, 6.35 ERA, 5.2 IP, 3.0 K/BB, 1.59 WHIP, -0.0 WAR
Samir Qasim L(1) - 43 G, 3-1, 4 SV, 3.23 ERA, 47.1 IP, 2.5 K/BB, 1.31 WHIP, +0.2 WAR
The bullpen let down another starter in the opening game of a 4-game series in Phoenix. Layar blew the save and Qasim got tagged with the loss. Phoenix 3B Mah'ud bin Salah al Din was 2-3 with an RBI while Spuds 2B Juan Silva matched his 2-for-3 and drove in 2.
