The Spuds offense put up only 2 runs/game in Sim #7 so it's refreshing to see 5.4 per in Sim #8 (recap. Pitching and defense were sketchy allowing 4.7 r/g but if they can whittle down that number a few points it would set the offense up well.
SPUDS OF THE SIM - SIM #8
Pitcher

SP Mahad 'Furball' Einan
11 G, 11 GS, 4-5, 3.20 ERA, 64.2 IP, 1.1 K/BB, 1.27 WHIP, +0.7 WAR
SP Dan Boman made one start in Sim #8 and it was a quality one as he went 6 innings allowing only 1 run on 4 hits pitching around 4 BB and earning the win. Reliever Yoriyuki Ine heard his name called 3 times on the bullpen phone and he allowed just 1 run in 4.2 innings of work. 'Furball' gets the nod over Boman due to making 2 solid starts in the Sim. He left with a 1-1 record, but he tossed 13.2 innings allowing 9 hits, 1 earned run, and fanning 8.
Batter

RF Tsutomu Yamauchi
48 G, 11 2B, 1 3B, 7 HR, 23 RBI, .258/.320/.445, 3 SB, +0.6 WAR
3B Bill Kuhn provided some punch in Sim #8 in the form of 2 doubles and 1 HR, driving in 5. 1B Tracy 'Jigga' Allison swiped 3 bags to add to his season total of 36 (in 38 attempts). LF Cosmo Pan posted 3 RBI on a double and 2 HR. But Yamauchi was most productive driving in 8 runs on 1 double and 3 HRs.
