A nice 5-2 Sim put GM Ben Teague in good spirits as it finished a split with Calgary and taking 3 of 4 in Phoenix. Pitching is still an issue, however, with the Spuds giving up 5 runs/game. It's just that the offense was able to power thru 6.6 per on the week.

Waiver claim P Jason Bergheimer introduced himself to Spuds fans with an excellent start against Calgary allowing just 1 run in 5.1 innings. RP Abban 'Eeyore' Layar made 3 relief appearances allowing 1 run in 6.2 innings. Prospect Felipe Ledesma took the bump twice in relief giving up only 3 hits and 1 run in 4.2 innings of work. But the week belonged to 'Furball'. He got pounded in his last outing vs the Pioneers and took his frustration out on Phoenix with a 7.1 inning, 1-run special fanning 6 Talons.

3B Bill Kuhn is hunting for a 2nd consecutive 100 RBI year and helped his cause in Sim #22 collecting 9 on 1 double and 3 HR while slashing .346/.393/.731. 1B Tracy 'Jigga' Allison only slashed .219/.265/.500 but used 3 doubles and 2 HR to drive in 4 runs while swiping 4 bases. But rookie Taylor had a blistering August and continued the momentum into early September, notice this is his 3rd-straight nod, posting 1 double, 4 homers, and 8 RBI.
