SP Phil 'Brewmeister' Cole
It's apparently been a busy day for Boise GM Ben Teague as he followed up a deal with Nashville with one that sends Vancouver legend Cole back home. Cole was acquired by the Spuds on the 10th with an eye towards surging to a Wild Card spot. With that off the blocks, Teague sends Cole and $1m cash where the 37yo legendary starter could finish out his career.
In return, Boise gets two young arms in 19yo RHP Ahmad bin Akil and 22yo righty Andy Bauer. "We feel that the arms we got in return have interesting futures. Ahmad bin Akil, in particular, has a lot of development that could be steered in different directions. Ultimately, of course, we're happy to reunite Cole with Vancouver fans," said Teague.
