Losing a series to Charm City is definitely not worst-case scenario, and the Spuds avoided being swept while sneaking with one in the 4-game road series. But it's the parade of being dominated in June that lends it more weight with Boise having been swept at home by Charlotte and on the road at Montreal. Boise is 8-16 in June with 3 days left to go and that's after a 12-17 May. Idaho is such a miserable place. Wait, we said the quiet part out loud.

@ Charm City 2-3 L P Buddhapalita Kankpati (ND) - 12 G, 3 GS, 0-1, 31.2 IP, 3.13 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, +0.0 WAR
@ Charm City 8-7 W SP Mahad 'Furball' Einan (ND) - 16 G, 16 GS, 91.2 IP, 4.32 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, +0.8 WAR
CL Mario Santos (SV) - 21 G, 2-5, 7 SV, 24.1 IP, 5.55 ERA, 1.64 WHIP, -0.1 WAR
@ Charm City 5-10 L SP Mario Reyes (L) - 16 G, 16 GS, 8-6, 94.1 IP, 3.63 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, +1.5 WAR
@ Charm City 3-5 L SP Doug Eckhoff (L) - 16 G, 16 GS, 2-7, 81.1 IP, 5.20 ERA, 1.51 WHIP, -0.0 WAR
This was a series where you keep your guard and just look to throw the haymaker. No one should say that openly, of course, but let's not stand on ceremony here. Both the sweeps earlier in the month were extra painful because a road series vs Charm City was on the horizon. Kankipati, filling in for SP Jeremy Nickerson who is filling in for SP Marvin 'Groucho' Winston, spun a beaut in the opening game throwing 6 innings of 1-run ball allowing only 4 hits though he did walk 3. But the offense got nothing going and relievers Juan Guzmán, allowing a Ramón Rodríguez solo HR, and Santos, allowing a walkoff double to Jimmies C Tokimasa Yano, couldn't support Kankipati's bright start. After not being able to get things rolling the previous night, the offense ambushed Charm City SP Héctor Silva for 5 runs in the 1st inning which chased him from the game. Though the Jimmies tied the game in the 3rd, Boise added another 3 in the 8th and rode out an 8-7 victory and the Spuds weren't going to get swept, so they had that going for them. The third game got ugly as both Charm City's LF Nelson Cadiou and Yano were 4-4 with 2 RBI. It didn't really make a difference as Jimmies SP Allen Davidson held Boise to 2 runs over 8 innings. The finale was another close game as the Spuds against jumped on Charm City's starter in SP Mike Johnson for 3 in the 1st. It would be all the runs they could manage, however, and the Jimmies chipped away at the lead until they came out on top 5-3.

v Atlantic City 3-2 W P Muneer bin Khairy (ND) - 15 G, 4 GS, 1 SV, 51.2 IP, 3.66 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, -0.1 WAR
Santos (SV)
v Atlantic City 3-9 L Kankipati (L)
So Charm City's in the rearview. How would the Spuds respond against the Gamblers, a team that swept them in Atlantic City last month. It would help to kick off with a win and that they did. Gamblers 2B Javier Aguilar launched a 2-run HR in the 3rd but that would be all the damage they could do against bin Khairy who went 6.1 innings and struck out 6. The offense, meanwhile, just chugged and chugged with Boise RF Martin Hemming and LF Cosmo Pan recording multi-hit games. The 2nd game saw Kankipati get rolled for 6 runs in 2.2 innings on just 4 hits and no HRs...but 4 walks. It was 7-0 after the 4th and the rest was a spectators' beer game.
