Rocky Mountain found themselves in a tie for the last two Wildcard spots before a series at a down Calgary before heading home for a showdown with Mexico City for potentially the last Wildcard spot. A split would of been fine though the hope was to go and win the series. Just go to Canada and not choke.

Well...

The Oysters did just that, getting swept by the Pioneers, now putting them 2 games back and making their last series a must win, potentially a must sweep to even have a shot of sneaking in.

The organization did have a bad feeling about the series. Especially after superstar Malik bin Mazin was suspended 6 games for fighting. This meant he was missing the whole Calgary series and game 1 of the Mexico City series. Any time without your best player is a disaster. But the timing couldn't of been much worse.

The first 2 games of the series were close games. A 2-1 loss where Ken Steele threw a nice start only for the bullpen to lose it. You can say the same about Jamie Barber in his 7-5 loss in extra innings. After that, the team just rolled over, losing 8-0 and 10-2.

"It was a pathetic showing by us," said Manager Marquise Cattaneo. "Just bad all around."

Now 2 games back of the final wildcard spot, they need help from Charm City to take care of Montreal. But the way the team is playing right now, they really should only be worrying about themselves.
