Manuel Parra is a 6'0" 175lb relief pitcher from Cueto, Cuba. He was born on April 19th, 2038. He was acquired by the Talons via trade from San Fernando. He already throw a good fastball, and the scouts also think he can eventually develop his curveball into an elite pitch as well. As Toledo's closer last season, he went 11-4 with 2.32 ERA and 35 saves in 62 innings. He looks to reprise his season with the Liberty next season, unless his curveball magically becomes better this winter.
Talons scouting director Schytt E. Pyck had this to say: "We don't know what to do with this guy. I know I say that a lot, but it's true. The OOTP game says he can be a 80 rated reliever. I just don't see it. League history is rife with 'stuck' curveballs and changeups on developing pitchers. I mean, if it does happen, great. But I don't think so. Maybe we should trade him before the ratings come back to reality and he's a 45 OVR middle reliever. Anyone want an 80-rated closer?? Like, quickly, before he lumps?"
Go TAlons.
