2061-005: Talons Front Office Reprimands Toledo After Liberty Make Their Own Trade Without Authorization [Breaking News]

The Talons made a trade last week!

Except, apparently it wasn't the Talons.

Astute observers of the Discord channel entitled "Completed Trades" may have noticed a rather nondescript deal between the Talons organization and the San Fernando Bears. In the swap, Talons minor leaguer pitchers Tadataka Taniguchi and Jose Diaz were dealt to the Bears in exchange for pitcher Manuel Parra and catcher Dorian Zoitakis. Seems pretty straightforward, right?

Except the Talons front office denies ever making the trade, or having any knowledge of it. "I was like, what the fuck is this?" the Talons Reclusive GM said. "Was I drunk or something when this happened? Too many edibles? Shrooms? I mean, these guys are like older, and worse, and what's more they now need 40-man slots to protect them from Rule 5! What a complete joke! Who the hell did this??"

Later on, it became apparent that the Toledo Liberty actually consummated the trade on their own volition. completely independent of the front office in Phoenix. Somehow, Liberty leadership accessed the BBA secure server and went through the process of proposing, negotiating, and consummating a deal with another major league team, all without the Talons' knowledge. No records exist of something like this ever happening in BBA history before.

While it remains to be seen how, when, or if any sort of punishment will be handed down internally, the Talons GM was none too pleased. "The Liberty can get bent for all I care," he groused. "Toledo is a shithole anyway, for that matter all of Ohio is. I should know, I work there at my day job," the GM said, referring to the Local Neighborhood Iron Smelter. "This shit happens again, and I'm gonna move the team to a real city, like Akron or something. That'll teach 'em!!"

When asked for comment, Liberty manager and former Talon Abdelwahab Kamade had this to say:

"The only thing that matters is the CPL championship."
