In a series of public and private comminucations on the forum, as well as with governing board members, the Talons are getting the distinct impression that we are not going to be able to appeal the -75 point penalty in participation points. The Talons have pointed out that it was not THEIR error that led to the discrepancy, but were told, in so many words, that it is not a "penalty" to set the books right.
So, for all intents and purposes, all of the team newses (most ever in a season for the franchise) will go for naught, and we will be lucky to end up at zero when all is said and done this offseason. No extra cash, no relief specialization, and definitely no tutoring for dumb Timofei Bakitski. And that's fine, because the Phoenix Talons have been around for 22 real life years and they aren't going anywhere.
So, the Talons forthwith drop their appeal regarding participation points, and throw themselves on the mercy of the Governing Board. The Talons look forward to uttering no further mention of this fiasco. Phoenix wants to put this sad debacle behind us and focus on 2035.
And, hey, maybe we'll actually finish above .500 and make some money that year.
Cheers!
