Welcome Home

Welp, right after we just got done rambling on about our third base dimmema. Decisions were made. Twin Cities packed up Pablo Silva and shipped him to San Fernando in return for River Monsters legend Felix Ramos. The only words I really have is.... I had to do it, he is our guy.

All season we kept wishing we had a leadoff man that could hit left handed and play 3B. I literally said about 15 times, we need a Felix Ramos type. Now, don't get too excited, the Ramos we got is not the same one I'm talking about. I was talking about 2051-2060 Ramos. 2062 Ramos can barely play 3rd base and has an OBP 40-50 points lower than my old friend. That is why we traded him in the first place. Beggars can't be choosers I suppose. You heard my diatribe. We needed to do something about 3B and the market is not really robust.

Ramos will slot into a platoon with one of the men he got traded for... Jose Perez. We feel this is an interesting pairing. Not only do they contrast in lefty/righty, but Perez is a power bat with solid defense and Ramos is an OBP/speed guy. So we could see some traditional and non traditional platooning.

Without a doubt, Sky Ramos is one of the greatest players to ever wear a River Monsters uniform. He defined an era in the teams history. If by some chance we happen to win the Brewster and passed up on a chance for Ramos to win a ring with the River Monsters, I don't think I could live with that.
