Where Did You Come From?

Where did you go.....

Oh look, an easy team news. Maybe we'll crack double digits this year. I decided to do the whole 40 man roster because most/all of these guys will be pulling on the rope at some point. I also added who drafted them and with what pick, cause I thought that's interesting too.

13 of our 39 players were drafted by us. Toku Yamashita probably shouldn't be on this list because "technically" we traded him away and signed him back later. But he has spent the bulk of his career here, so I feel he should be here. We have 6 former first round picks, one second, three third and two fourth. Felix Alvarez is the lone "late rounder". He has yet to make his BBA Debut though.

Erik Brooks is the longest tenured River Monster. Being with the team since he was drafted in 2047. Both he and Yamashita were here before I took over in October of 2049.

This is somewhat interesting. A lot of low risk players. 3 of the 6 were signed prior to this season. I'm not opposed to big long expensive contracts. I think it's more a product of our teams timeline.

11 players acquired via trade. 6 of which came from our "fire sale" last season. Several more will work their way onto this list shortly. Peter Fuller is the second longest tenured River Monster. Though he is nearing the end of his run.

Two of our bullpen arms came from waivers. This is status quo. Always a good way to find some cheap useful arms.

I was really proud of the fact that we have 7 Rule 5 picks on our 40 man. As I started to fact check to see if that was most in BBA, I saw Brooklyn has 12. Damn. Oh well. Wearne and Marcillas are solid finds. The rest are maybe more flawed than good. As you can tell I target defensive depth and you guessed it, more cheap relief pitching.

Nothing wrong with an "easy TN". There was some effort involved here, anyways.
