Charm City 2063.7 - Rosales Out, Maybe for Good?

The worst was announced as veteran reliever Patrick Rosales hit the IL for an estimated 5-6 weeks with biceps tendinitis. The 36 year old is on the first year of a 2 year deal signed last offseason after the team declined his team option. His 2064 contract is another team option.

Rosales has pitched in just 44 games for us since being acquired in a trade from Twin Cities in 2061. Management was leaning towards letting him walk after an injury plagued 2062. He’s given us 36.1 innings of work this season with 11ER allowed. We’re considering waiving him when he’s ready to be activated.

When an injury occurs it’s always an opportunity for someone to step up. We recalled Jason Gomez from AAA. Gomez, our former 4th round pick from 2060, made his Charm City debut on July 11th vs San Antonio and was demoted prior to the last sim. He looks like a LOOGY, but we’re going to give him an extended chance out of the pen.
