Charm City 2063.2 - Change is Coming

After failing to win the Atlantic Division for the first time since 2052 the Jimmies have undergone some changes as they head into the 2063 season. We're going to take a look at those changes.

Personnel Leaving:

Assistant GM Chris Bennett announced his retirement following the 2062 season. Bennett had held the assistant GM job with us since I took over in the 2051 season. He left so abruptly that he even took his HTML address with him not allowing him to connect him.

Bench coach Bartolo García announced that he was not resigning with us and will instead search for a managerial job at the BBA level. García has held the bench coach job for the Jimmies since 2059. He's been in the organization since 2051. If he fails to land a job we're hopeful to reconnect with him.

3rd Base Coach Gilberto Pacheco was informed by management that he will not be returning in 2063. Pacheco returned to organized baseball in 2062 for the first time since 2054 to be our 3rd base coach. Our team was ranked 12 in the Johnson League in baserunning in 2062. We finished 3rd in OPS, but 6th in runs scored so we felt like this could be a place to improve. We wish Gilberto the best in his future endeavors.

Players Traded:

Candrata Parmar was traded along with Saled Lahsini to Rocky Mountain in exchange for Shane Holmes and Allam Suhayb.

This trade came down to us wanting to add some depth at 3B and clear out a spot on the 40 man roster. Parmar is a solid relief pitcher, but I was considering nontendering him. Lahsini I was pondering putting on waivers to clear out a spot on the 40 man roster. In Holmes and Suhayb we get a couple project players. If Holmes can put it together he can be a solid 3B option and Suhayb is a nice lotto ticket for the future.

Bane McCoy for Cash Considerations.

I was going to nontender McCoy. I tried earlier to move him, but couldn't get an offer. I'm hopeful that the cash we receive will allow us to sign an extra prospect or two this off season. McCoy was a solid contributor for us, but with the emergence of Arturo Perez down the stretch I felt like the 4 million that McCoy was expected to make could be used more wisely.

Free Agents:

Joe Shaw has indicated that he is not interested in resigning and wants to test the free agent market.

Bryce Sparks is a pending free agent, but we've had negotiations to try to bring him back for 2063.

Team Option Declined:

The team announced that Patrick Rosales has had his team option declined. There have been negotiations with the Rosales agent about bringing him back next year at a lower salary.
