Edmonton, November 15, 2047 -- Edmonton fans are taking to twitter and other social media to vent at the departure of three core members of the Jackrabbits who fled for free agency. In fact, one fan showed his wrath by penning a rap song that has now gone viral.
The Jackrabbits' new lineup
This past season, in which the 'rabbits earned a wildcard berth, the departing trio combined for a respectable 9 WAR, and GM Mike Dunn will be scrambling to replace them on the roster.
The viral song was authored by a youtube rapper who goes by the handle BobNotDylan, rumored to be a barista at a downtown Edmonton Starbuck by day. In the tune, the singer focuses particularly on the departure of Carlo Donadoni. It's title, in the grand tradition of rap songs, is anything but subtle: "Donadoni, You Can Blow Me."
Here are the lyrics:
Edmonton officials would not respond to our requests for comment, but one source said the tune could be heard being blasted recently from within the confines of the front office. BobNotDylan is said to be working up similar tunes for the departures of Collins and Espinosa.Carlo Donadoni
Is nothing but a phoney
Claimed to be a homey
But that was just baloney
So he leaves us for a big deal
Some owner's cash he will steal
I think he's just a big heel
Who doesn't care how fans feel
So I tell you, Donadoni
You're nothing but a phoney
With no friends you'll be lonely
Donadoni, you can blow me!
