Brauers starting rotation takes a hit....

Post by palmolive44 » Thu Jan 05, 2012 11:38 pm

Muchen Brauers GM Scott Murphy announced today that the injury that SP Fineen Duly suffered during his start on 05/06 against Belfast was a torn labrum and will keep him out for at least 4 months. The team is waiting to see how Duly's surgery which is scheduled for later this week goes before making any decision on a return. Corey Haim is currently scheduled to take Duly's next start but beyond that the team has not said how they will fill Duly's spot in the rotation.

at least he is a number 5 man in your rotation, who was doing that great anyway.

maybe there's somebody better out there for that position

and what do you think about Charlie Smith: is he gonna turn it around?

Losing Duly isn't a huge loss in my opinion. Haim has started in the past so maybe he can step in and fill Duly's spot. So far I haven't seen anyone in our minor league system who can step in so if Haim flames out we may have to look at a trade or see who is available as a free agent.

Smith has me stumped. His first three starts were very good (1.28 ERA), but since then he has been awful. Starting to wonder if the pressure of being the staff ace is too much. Either than or he just isn't that good.

WTF?? I just lost a young lefty reliever (already becoming one of my best bullpen arms) to a torn labrum and he's out for 11-12 months! I think you guys are messing around with stem cells or something...
