As the Storm head into the off-season, some change can be expected, but it's more likely that things will look very similar in 2013 for Seattle. Seattle just finished its arbitration hearings, and although some players received significant raises, the Storm are still six million dollars under the league salary cap, which gives them the opportunity to, potentially, make a few low-key free agent signings. Although Seattle's GM Nathan Eagan has been keeping silent about his team's potential plans, there is speculation that the Storm could be in the market to acquire a backup outfielder, who could potentially replace Tipper Kengos, who will be a free agent after this season.
Although the Storm are under the salary cap, there are whispers around the league that Seattle's owner, Javier Morales, is still unhappy with the team's total expenditures. As a result, some people speculate that Seattle's budget will be cut, but there has been nothing to indicate that will be the case. For the next few months, expect Seattle to remain quiet as other teams acquire high-profile players, but expect the Storm to be ready to compete for the Pacific Division crown again when the 2013 season rolls around.
