RELIEVER PASSES 10-DAY REHAB
July 2, 2063 After sitting out nearly three months with shoulder inflammation, Bikini Krill reliever Brain Capps will be returning to the roster tonight as the klub faces the Nashville Bluebirds in the fourth game of their series. Capps was drilled for four runs on four hits and a homer in his first rehab outing while at AAA-Pasco, but rebounded to post 3.1 scoreless innings in two stints thereafter, recording a save.

The more interesting news, perhaps, is that the player being optioned to AAA to clear space for Capps is Alfredo Salazar, whose sophomore stint (6.85 ERA, 7.01 FIP) has been an unexpected disaster after a solid rookie year. Most thought, when Capps was injured in the first week of the season, that righthander Herman Deckard would be the likely man on the block, but Dekard has pitched himself into a stronger position in the team's plans, as he's served as both a starter and a long-inning reliever while posting a 2-0 record to go along with his 3.72 ERA.
While the Krill have a slate of injury news lower in the organization, this roster announcement brings the big league blub to full strength for the first time since that opening week. It comes at a time when the team finds itself in a three-way dead heat tie with Portland and Hawaii for the Pacific division lead.
"I've been telling the guy to grind it out for two months now," Fiscus said. "Sometimes even in one-on-one sessions. But now I feel like a Mama hen whose got all her men back on the carrier."
"She can be pretty demanding," Capps said when asked about her comments. "And those one-on-ones can be pretty intense because she knows exactly what she wants. But I admit I'm really looking forward to the first one. I know where Kate's heart is. And I love her for it."
