The buzz around town is that in addition to being a solid MVP candidate, Pennebaker also has a shot at the Triple Crown (league leader in average, home runs, and runs batted in). As of 8/11/95, in the Frick League, Pennebaker is 3rd in average at 0.342 (behind Mohler -HAK 0.358 and Picou- DM 0.343), T-1st in RBIS with 85 (with Picou) and 4th in HRs (eight behind the leader, Vanderhugen). It will not be an easy task, especially as Seattle continues to be pushed further out of playoff contention, but this Triple Crown shot may be what the fans in Seattle need to keep attention high during the remainder of the season.
In addition to those categories, Pennebaker also is at the top of SLG%, weighted OBA, VORP, runs created, hits, doubles, runs, XBH, TB and isolated power categories.
