Seattle Times. 1995.v3. Seattle Storm: Sim Week of 4/1-4/16

With a couple series matchups, including division favorite Las Vegas, the Seattle Storm started out of the gate slowly, going 4-8. Seattle finished 3-4 against the Hustlers and played in five 1-run games (going 2-3). It was a tough stretch to watch the bullpen, as several games were blown before Dever could come in to close the deal. It is early in the season, so no panic; however, if the bullpen cannot close out games, it will be a long season.

Key performers:
D. Rucker : 39 AB, 13 H, 3 HR, 9 RBI, .333 AVG, .971 OPS
M. Pennebaker : 48 AB, 15 H, 1 HR, 6 RBI, .313 AVG, .847 OPS
D. Robinson : 32 AB, 12 H, 0 HR, 6 RBI, .375 AVG, .750 OPS

Other news:
Several FA signing attempts were made to improve the bullpen but Seattle lost out to other teams (Suarez, Widowmaker, etc.).

Spivey has been moved to the bullpen, in order to add some stability to the pen. Schuster moves into the rotation.

Barbosa had a tough week (going 0-3). He will remain in the rotation for now.

What to watch for:
Keep tabs on the stolen base numbers for Seattle, it looks to be at the top by season's end.
