The Tucson Prick 2025.5: LaBrie hurt....

Post by c-mitch » Mon Mar 07, 2016 8:28 pm

Surprised it took this long. Also, I guess the last TN I wrote wasn't my last, after all. When I said "I hate this league", I didn't mean you guys that participate in the league.....just the fact that I can never make headway here. Meh. My heart isn't in this right now, but I can't seem to quit. I am numb to the barbs of the Cactus.

So, back to the point of the TN. LaBrie is hurt for the final sim. Doesn't really matter, but hey, it's something to write about. He was leading the Brewster in batting average for much of the season, but Indy's guy just passed him. Nice year for Daniel. He hit .348. He had a .907 OPS. He even hit more home runs than Sandcastle, 18 to 17. I rested him fairly often this year, trying to keep him from getting hurt. He did play 134 games, getting 538 ABs. His defense wasn't great (-8.6 cumulative ZR in the field this year), but he still managed a 3.7 WAR. We didn't lose because of Danny Boy, that's for sure.

I'm not sure I'll get to 15 PPT, but I guess I'll try. We are 73-85, and I hate writing about this team right now, nor have I ever been a guy that does league features. So.....

Yes, we are 12 games under .500. Nobody saw it coming, I guess. We really fell apart here at the end. The pieces I have just aren't meshing. Sandcastle is killing me. Here is a guy supposed to be a prime bat in this league, and he did have a 4.9 WAR despite missing 5 weeks, but it just seems like he isn't having an impact. His numbers are underwhelming, and I know the injury kept the cumulative numbers down, but it's just depressing to pay a guy like this premium money and not get wins for my trouble.

I really didn't think Labrie would continue like he has after he lumped for me and I let him go.
