Signed SP Bret Harrell to a 1-year contract extension worth a total of $4,900,000.
Signed 2B Randy Wright to a 1-year contract extension worth a total of $1,900,000.
Signed RP Carlos Berrera to a 1-year contract extension worth a total of $1,350,000.
Vegas got a head start on three of the arbitration eligible players right away. All three of these guys took a little less money than they probably would have received in arbitration hearings. "I don't want to go through all of that nonsense," said Wright. "Is it really worth the hassle for a couple extra thousand bucks? Not for me." Harrell and Berrera seemingly shared the same view.

Signed international amateur SP Jorge Martinez out of Costa Rica to a minor league contract.
Nothing to see here. He's a 3/5/1 potential lefty. "Why we even sign guys like this is honestly beyond me," stated Assistant GM Aaron Burnette.

RP Ramon Gonzalez has executed his contract year option.
SP Joe D'antonio retired from professional baseball.
Voided the team option year(s) of RP Bill Young for a buyout of $500,000.
Executed the contract year option of CL Todd Stone.
Now for the more interesting stuff. Worse things could have happened than Gonzalez picking up an option year that will guarantee his 2061 salary of $6.4M. Sure, he didn't perform to a level anywhere near earning that salary, but he did pitch better and better down the stretch as a reliever. So he'll likely have a spot on the pitching staff.
D'antonio was once a promising knuckleball prospect. He was the first overall pick of the 2039 GBC Draft, selected by the Beirut Cedars. In 2043, his rookie year, he was 15-5. This would be, more or less, the highlight of his career. Wildly inconsistent on the mound, problematic and outspoken in the clubhouse, it's simply amazing that he stuck around for twenty two professional seasons. Best wishes in your retirement, Joe.
Bill Young wasn't going to be back next year. He simply didn't pitch well enough after being claimed off waivers.
The decision to bring back Todd Stone was, frankly, one of the easiest decisions the Hustlers will have to make this offseason.

The 3/5/1 amateur has bad intangibles to boot. I’m always tempted to cut those guys right away not wanting them to poison the rest of the complex.
