WHIV 2060.16- Choppers Win RHML Granville Great Lakes Division

Choppers Easily Win Granville League Great Lakes
Sunday, August 22nd , 2060
It's a banner year for the Milwaukee Choppers, they have won the Granville League Great Lakes.

"There's so much pride in our room and on our roster, anything but a division title wouldn't have been acceptable," said shortstop Pat Currie. "In the playoffs we'll just have to take it one day at a time and keep battling."

The Choppers this year have battled to a 85-45 mark, which is good for the club's 27th Granville League Great Lakes title.

"I'm extremely proud of my players and look forward to seeing what we can do in the postseason," said manager Rudy Forrest.

With the playoffs approaching, and the BBA Roster Expansion here, there are a lot of decisions to make in who will actually be on the Choppers playoff roster.

Injuries also are playing a factor. Gilberto Trevino had to leave his first start early, and was diagnosed with an elbow strain. "His season is probably over," said Forrest.

One of the Choppers top hitters, Dave Offredi sprained a finger and was diagnosed as day-to-day for about 3-4 weeks. He was placed on the 7-day IL and will likely be back for the playoffs.

Reliver Chris Mobely has elbow tendinitis, and will be out 4 weeks, effectively ending his season as well.

It'll be interesting to see who the top club keeps in Milwaukee for the playoff run, rather than calling them up for more BBA experience.

You don’t have much luck with health from pitchers you acquire from me.

I haven't had much luck in trades in general over the last several years, hoping that is starting to change a bit now.

My biggest regret of the season...keeping Juan Martínez instead of Pat Currie.

Currie had a really nice AAA season. I still don't know if he's a big leaguer, but I guess I have to add him to the 40-man this offseason.
