Pedro Martinez, RP- He gave the Hustlers another dominant lefty in the pen, and will continue to be an important setup man for the Hustlers.
Robert Yoo, RP- As promising as he is as a starter, Yoo was virtually untouchable in a relief role (1 run in 23 innings during Aug/Sep). With Christen re-signing, it's likely that Yoo might remain in the bullpen for some time.
Marty Powers, CL- Powers bounced back in a nice way and will be back in 2000. HE will open the season as the closer but could be challenged by Yoo or Jonathan Salott at some point.
Santiago Colon, RP- Solid after coming over, he was unscored upon in JUly/August. Will be the #1 middle reliever for 2000 after re-signing with Las Vegas for $4.2 million.
Christopher Stoller, SP- At 20-7, Stoller is your Nebraska Award winner in a world without Mitrani and Izatt. Maybe next year, but this year "Trooper" established himself as a true MBBA ace and that gives Las Vegas two of them.
Ernest Nilson, RP- 0.70 WHIP. Chew on that for a minute. He was the prime give back from the John Johnston trade to Buffalo and the Hustlers couldn't be happier with him in a middle relief role.
Johnny Madorin, SP- The Hustlers "other" ace, Madorin had some tough luck with wins this year but remained as consistent as ever.
Curt Wilson, RP- Wilson established himself as a dominant lefty bullpen arm, but he remains committed to becoming a starter. The Hustlers don't have the same viewpoint, so they'll look to shop him around this winter.
Eric Sweet, SP- Sweet again pitched well, despite giving up 36 homers. He did increase his workload to 201.0 innings this year in his first full season as a MBBA starter.
Micheal Shellenbarger, SP/RP- At times the Hustlers toyed with returning Shellenbarger to his closer role that he dominated in early in his career. However, Shelly wanted none of that. This winter, expect Shellenbarger to be one of the most desired trade pieces on the market.
Jonathan "Tank" Salott, RP- In his limited major league experience, Salott has struggled. Don't worry, he's still got a bright future as a stopper.
Richard Reemer, RP- After getting him from Chicago, his ERA was inflated by two bad outings but his 1.11 WHIP indicates the quality of pitching he did for Las Vegas. Brought back on a cheap one year extension as MR#3/4.
Shane Christen, SP- A disastrous August had the whole league wondering aloud if Christen was all washed up. However, he came back strong in Septmber and earned a spot in the Hustlers playoff rotation. They ended up re-signing him for two more years.
