Calgary Brings the Stallion Back
The "Italian Stallion" is back in Calgary, well sort of. The team announced today the hiring of Girolamo L'Archibudelli as the new manager of the Chestermere Lunkers (R). He replaces Wilfred Sullivan who spend 2 years with the team and then retired after the 2062 season.
"I'm looking forward to teaching these youngsters how to hit and how to win," L'Arch said. "Also how to make a proper sauce. I saw one of them put ketchup on noodles and call it spaghetti! Che Cazzo!"
L'Archibuddelli played for 6 different BBA teams along with a stint in the GBC and he had more than 3000 hits if you combine the stats. His official BBA total is 2877 hits. A career .329 hitter, he was a fan favorite, but was kept from greatness by his glove. Six seasons with over 200 hits, 6 seasons with over 100 runs scored, 615 career stolen bases, but a -63.5 ZR in the outfield.
L'Arch played 745 games for Calgary, over 6 seasons, including 3 of those 220 hit/100 run ones. He played for the Pioneers during 3 different stretches in his career. He also played 657 games with Edmonton (Austin now) and 628 with Las Vegas. Twice and All Star and the winner of 2 league championships, he retired after the 2060 season as a Pioneer.
