Crawdad Chronicles 12.04 - The Fab 5

Post by JimBob2232 » Sat Oct 19, 2013 11:03 am

New Orleans has struggled offensively in 2012. Besides the long-ball, there is little to be proud of offensively. Their defense is horrendous. Their park is decidedly a hitters park.

So how then...did they make the Landis?...Pitching.

New Orleans has 5 stud pitchers. Some have said it is among the best staff in the game.

SP Jimmy McCabe - His 4-0 record this postseason is enough for him to be hearaled, but he is just 26, with 8/8/8 ratings. In his 2nd year in the league, his 15-14 record was nothing great, but he had a 3.52 ERA and 1.28 WHIP and a 5.6 WAR, 130 ERA+. New Orleans is looking forward to his continued development in future years...but the future is now.

SP Mike Williams - One of the best strikeout pitchers of all-time, Williams is the veteran of the staff at the ripe age of 32. He had a bit of a down year, although his .312 BABIP might have something to do with that. 107 ERA+ and 5.7 WAR are good enough to be on anyones rotation

SP Bob Latrobe- Just 23 years old, had a 4.3 WAR, and a 1.33 WHIP in his first full season with the club. His pinpoint control gives him the edge against most offenses.

SP Albert Martinez - He just turned 25, but he is the 2nd oldest SP in the crawdads rotation. Its his 3rd year with the club, and regressed a bit in 2012, but his future remains bright here with his 7/9/7 ratings.

SP Doug Davis - Not quite 24 yet, Doug went 10-4 with New Orleans after being caleld up from Communist Cuba. The centerpeice in the Tipper Kengos deal a few years ago is finally shining in the big easy.
