New Orleans has been considering saying good-bye to one of their best players in team history for several years. Thats a bold statement for a franchise that boasts such greats as Sawyer Silk and Regolio Morales. But Donestavez belongs on that mount rushmore.

There will be a day for him eventually, but the future hall of famer is riding out the 2060 season as a DH and is starting to show signs of slowing down.

But slowing down isnt too bad. He is hitting .254 with 14 home runs and an astonishing 25-2 SB to CS ratio. The 39 year old has still has some wheels!

The 2 time Saywer Silk, 4 time puckett, 10 time all-star, 2 Time Zimmer, and former Landis winner has his trophy case full. But he isnt done quite yet.

There are some big milestone conuting stats ahead of him, but he may not get them with the time dwindling down this season. He needs 53 more hits to get to 3,000. 24 Home Runs to get to 500. He continues to chip away at those and bolster his chances for a first ballot HOF nominee.

The rare combination of Speed, Power and Defense has made him invaluable. A career .315 hitter (2,947 hits), .387 OBP, .542 SLG. 93 WAR, **AND** 625 Stolen Bases. Make him one of the best in the highly regarded 2038 draft class.

But this may be it. New Orleans is out of options on his contract. There are indications he may choose to retire. And he is starting to show his age. Its likely this is his last hurrah. But it was a good run while it lasted.

These guys are putting us in an awkward spot. Usually there’s a team rebuilding who can find the playing time to let guys reach these milestones but there’s several at a time.
