Record: 11-15
DM has l0st seven out of her last ten games. That sucks, and someone will have to pay. Probably JR. Except he seems to be unfireable. The team had a major power outage last week, ranking 22nd.
Looking for good news through this slow start to sixty-three sends us the following:

1) Ken'ichi Okubo [pictured] (.300-4-14, 15BB) doubled off a Madison runner at first from left field. This with a six arm. Okubo made stellar catches when he was playing left, while not sucking too much at center.
2) Garth "El Metrónomo" Dobbs, won two of three games, and this gives him three wins in a row. What's more important: his 1.19 WHIP or 5.53 ERA? JR will take the former. Note that due to pressure from JR's father, Dobbs' nickname has been changed from the French version of 'The Metronome" to the Spanish version.
3) Arnold Cantrell (2-2. 3.00) lost a 1-0 game to TWC's Enzo Bouton (1-3, 3.86), who allowed eight walks! Bouton may be up for a bio called Ball Five.
4) One of our pitchers allowed no runs in a bases-loaded, no outs situation, and we don't remember who.
5) Scott Everard, 34, saved two games and pitched 8.2 innings with a 1.04 ERA in five appearances. The 34-year-old doesn't seem to be slowing down.

6) SS Pedro Gongora leads the Kernels with 18 RBIs and is second with five home runs.
7) SP Steven Clayton, a week short of his 35th birthday, collected a win and ran his record to 3-0, 1.72 in five starts.
"We had our, unfortunate, usual slow start. April's always been a bugger." Manager Mel Jenkins said. "And some of these Heartland teams just might be playing better than in sixty-two."
