Coco Cay is the odd team out in the DMO. The only team in the org with a losing record (and they're an unimpressive 25-40), the Anglers don't resemble the Kernels with such Sub League2 rankings as 214 runs (13th), 26 home runs (16th), and 3.95 starters era (12th). Twenty-six home runs in 65 games?! What is that? DH Manuel Gutiérrez (6/5/4) leads the Anglers with five home runs. Listed as a second baseman, he's seen two games as a fielder; and he's bounced around the SA, A, and AA levels. Gutiérrez was HR's 10th round pick in the '60 draft (315th overall).
The Anglers also feature this season's DMO Round 9 pick (277th), C Juan Gutiérrez (5/5/5 POT). Juan has shared the catching duties with Germán Barrozo (4/2/5), 2062 DMO Round 18 pick, 565th overall). 22-y.o. First baseman George Tizzard (6/3/5 POT) has an OPS of .897 in 13GS/36G. George was the Mad Popes 14th round pick this season, and dropped without an appearance. The DMO signed the 40 POT player a month later (June 26). He has a lifetime OPS of .832 in 167 games (4 seasons) of college ball.

The pitching staff features Rubén Jiménez (6/5/5 POT), drafted in the 4th round by Des Moines. He's a reliever but heading the Anglers rotation. The DMO is hoping the 6' 5" 205-pounder with high WE and ADP can develop a third pitch. In any case, he's a 40 POT reliever. "True starter" Fernando Ramírez (6/5/3 [30] POT), who has five pitches, is a hard luck 1-8 with a 4.21 ERA (83 ERA+).
