KT 62.46 - Cantrell out till September, Haworth steps in

Cantrell might want to finally re-up, but he didn't help his chances when he sustained an elbow injury which may keep him sidelined into September. He has a 1.10 whip/2.95 ERA in 21 starts, and that's not easy to replace. His agent is asking $10 million per, for four years.



Ken Haworth (6/5/7) has been inserted into the starting rotation and was told, if you're gonna do something, now's the time. So far, in 3 starts and 15 relief games, Haworth has a 3.35 ERA / 1.31 WHIP. This season he has started against Louisville, Hawaii (back-to-back starts in mid-May); and he started last week against YS9, when he threw a "quality start" no-decision. Haworth started 15 games in 2061 for Des Moines. His next start will probably be at Chicago, which is not an easy assignment.
