LF Wan-ling Koo #13 seems to tower over his expected teammates on the 2062 Des Moines roster starting day roster. Let's hope the left fielder from northeast China awarded a six-year contract, including $13mm this season, thus number 13, can lead the troops back to the playoffs, which is what team owner Walter Wilhelm wants, or an above-.500 record, which some say is what JR will settle for. "Gonna be another exciting year of FL baseball!" JR said, boarding the transport which will take him to an undisclosed locale near the Antarctic.

Assistant GM Esteban Costa has some comments on the Opening Day roster. "Yes, it's 26 players. We're playing two games and we'll see what kind of waiver ops are there. We find ourselves looking for a ML pitcher, with the unfortunate departure of [Leland] Rogers. Turns out he settled for what we could have paid him if we had stayed." Also, with JR out of sight, I may DFA-waiver Clarke. That is, Matsu may start behind the plate after all, with Rule-fiver Davidson his backup. This means Carlos [Rodríguez] will DH.

"And we'll have a surprise center fielder to open the season."

Lufti will not begin on the ML roster, he'll be sent to El Paso, so we're starting with 25. That brings us to three games against YS9, then home against Madison.
