Kernel of Truth 61.11 - It's Official! McCoy to Charm City

The 2061 season is three days old and JRamirez has shipped on-again off-again Bane 'G.O.A.T.' McCoy #13 to Dave B's Charm City, complete with a thank you card, for 3B Hitoshi Kitamura #11 and a fruit basket. When asked why, JR said "11 is better than 13."

"Seriously, McCoy never fit in around here I wish him the best of success in Charm City. Actually, you know, one of the first things I read about McCoy was that he was 'just another struggling first basemen'. I kinda resented that remark, but I gotta tell you: It's two years on and McCoy's still struggling. I gotta thank [Yellow Springs GM] Rob McMonigal for pointing out how often McCoy gets injured."

Team manager Mel Jenkins had more info: "Wasn't a secret that McCoy wasn't JR's favorite, and well Bane didn't like getting bounced between Des Moines and El Paso like a yo-yo," Jenkins said, "What's more, JR's still forming his kind of team and a makeover can take awhile. I know his first order of business was to get rid of the p*ssies--"

"Hey, your a pussy, man!" yells McCoy, suitcase in hand.

Can we say p*ssy on this board? McCoy didn't hesitate to.

"You see," JR said, "That's what I'm talking about. And, yeah, getting rid of all fragile players is a goal. I don't care who they are: Makin, Cano, McCoy-boy..."

Traded to the DM organization is Hitoshi Kitamura. "He could be fragile, for all I know," JR said. "I'm on the road and don't have all my tools with me."

"Told you he's using a simulator to run his team," Tim Meseck said.

"Say hello to 'Tammy'," responded JR. "Whoever the hell she is!"

"Guys, guys..." Jenkins adds. So, Kitamura.

"Did some say Kit-Kats? I bought a lot of green tea kit-kats in Japan once."

"Yeah, and I'm sure Kitamura is one cool kat. For now, ship 'em to-- well, let me check my tools."

"Pbbb," said a voice, walking out of the dugout.

"Pork rinds!"

"Burnt popcorn!" the voice fired back.

"Up yours!"

"Get some sleep, loser!"

"Get a team, boozer!"

A door closes in the distance.

The deal frees up $1.7mm from the DM books.
