On the Lam, 62.7 - Bring the lefties!

The Outlaws find themselves in the top half of the Frontier Division almost a quarter of the way into the ’62 season and have a winning record through mid May. The front office took a look at things and decided to make a splash in the trade market by bringing in veteran starting pitcher Jonathan Bryant from Valencia. The 6’-6” 205 pound lefty is a 7th year vet of the Stars pitching staff. He has appeared in 173 games, starting 106 of them, and has a 37-35 record with a sub 4.00 ERA. He has excelled as a starting pitcher, regularly posting ERA+ numbers above 100.

The Outlaws met the Stars’ trade demands with a 50 rated prospect in CF Gideon Shone, the 7th rated prospect in their system. Shone is a 5 tool centerfielder that at age 19, has a ways to develop yet. He should hit for great power but will need some luck to stabilize and/or improve at contact and gap power. Overall he should be an adequate starter and could develop into a top tier player in the middle.

It's no secret that the Outlaws are making a push to end their playoff drought that has gotten to legendary status. Not the legendary that Barney Stinson would be happy about but legendary still the less. Bryant adds a 4th lefty starter to the mix for San Antonio and slots in as the 3rd starter. It will be interesting to see if the addition of the starting pitcher, and whatever moves the team makes the remainder of the year, help push them into the playoffs and bring the revenue stream they may need to extend Bryant to a long term deal. Lot’s going on in Texas, that’s for sure.

Good grief. the way Bryant played for you. you'd think he was bin Nawaf! That really sucks and obviously sucked some of the air out of the push.
