On the Lam, 62.1 - Junior gets 2,000th hit
The San Antonio fans had additional reason to celebrate in April 19th, 2062 as one of the all time favorites earned a career milestone. The Outlaws were welcoming their hated rivals, Austin, to the Tap Room for their first matchup of the young season. The Shredders came into the matchup on fire going 11-3 through the first 15 games of the season while the hometown Outlaws were 8-7 and playing winning baseball. CF Hector Cano was coming into the game sitting at 1,999 career hits and fans were eager to watch him get that 2,000th. He lead off the bottom of the second with a first pitch ground out to the third baseman. As he made his way to the dugout he threw his arms up in a “sorry all” gesture. The fans ate it up and gave him a round of applause anyways. The Shredders jumped on the Outlaws early and were up 5-0 going into the bottom of the 4th when Cano came up to the plate with runner son 1st and 3rd. The veteran all-star took a ball on the first pitch and watched the next pitch sail by for a called strike. He then adjusted his gloves for the next pitch from Snapper Amr and hit a long fly ball that sailed 352 feet into the left field stands. The crowd went crazy as “Junior” rounded the bases and touched home plate. The Outlaws would end up losing the game 5-4 in a close one but the fans still left happy. Their favorite star entered a Monty club that few can call themselves members to. The 34 year old Cano has enamored the city since he came over from Des Moines during the 2060 season in which GM Tim Meseck stated was “a big time steal from the Kernel club, we suckered them.”

Heh, I hadn't noticed how similar Cano's game is to KGJ until the added emphasis on his nickname. Left handed center fielder, offensive game based around power and speed, can't stay healthy, and he's been in a couple of huge trades.
