Williamson spent his entire career prior with Des Moines to this signing. He had always been an average bat with a good glove and an excellent ability to draw a walk. He struggled massively with a .194/.307/.314 triple slash last year posting the first negative WAR for his career.
Williamson is expected to back up Jose Montano and James Monger across the middle infield.
In his career Williamson has played in 892 games with a .228 batting average. Among his 719 hits are 161 doubles, 19 triples and 120 home runs. He also has scored 484 runs and driven in 381 runs.
