2063.5 Brownie Bites Bin Badr rehab assignment

Post by handaspencer » Fri Jun 06, 2025 8:05 pm

The Brook Park Brownies will get a boost to their rotation in the coming weeks. FA acquisition Gamal Bin Badr will begin his rehab assignment this week in AAA. Bin Badr tore his labrum August of last season with Vancouver. Bin Badr was putting together a solid season last year in Vancouver going 7-11 with a 4.18 ERA in 26 starts. Understandably Vancouver voided the team option on Bin Badr making him a FA last year. Brook Park with some money to spend this past offseason took a flyer on Bin Badr offering him a 1 year deal for 4.3 mill.

Brook Park is really struggling in the rotation and any help they could get would be appreciated. We knew Bin Badr probably would not be available until June when we signed him and we felt we might need some additional help by that time. You can never have enough pitching GM Spencer said. We want to give Badr some time and let him fully rehab and work himself back into game shape but we are also going to be excited to get some extra help.

Brook Park is currently ranked near the bottom in most pitching categories along with the offensive side struggling as well. It's been a tough start for us GM Spencer said. We are not discouraged the season is still young we will find a hot streak along the way. We have a lot of new faces in here again and when turnover is that high sometimes it takes time to blend together. We have 13 guys on this roster 25 years old and younger with several 30+ years old. With this many young kids on the squad we wanted to surround them with some veteran leadership. Young teams will struggle at times and we need to learn how to win. Getting winners like Bin Badr to join our club with help with that.
