GM Spencer has informed the media the assistant GM Perry Bolden will not get his contract renewed. We would like to thank Perry for the past 6 seasons he has spent in Omaha and the past couple years working with me but we need to go in a different direction. We are confident Boldens future in the BBA is bright and he will continue to progress in his career. For us we just needed a change in direction and a new set of eyes and ideas on the rebuild of Omaha so we will look on the outside to fill that role.
Omaha ranks near the bottom of the list in farm systems in the BBA and the overall depth within the organization on the farm is weak. GM Spencer said I intend to really pour some work into our farm systems and I will be looking for another voice within the organization that I can bounce ideas off and give some responsibility to the day to day operations of the organizations. I would like to get this position filled fast we have a lot of work to do this offseason.
It appears Omaha could get a decent budget increase this offseason to invest into the team and there is also a few pending FA that needs reviewed. We would like to invest heavier in our player development programs with this increase and we would also like to talk to a couple of our pending FA. We might even be a player in the offseason to acquire some FA Acquistions. It is not typically our style to spend in FA but we might be willing to spend some money for some targeted help with some areas of need.
Omaha improved by 11 games last season; we certainly don't expect another 11 game increase this year but if we could increase by 3-4 games we are a playoff team. Matter of fact we finished with the same record as Montreal and they are in the final round. We have always had the mindset just get into the playoffs and anything can happen. But its going to require great attention to detail and surrounding ourself with the right staff and the right players to make this happen. I am excited to be able to work with my new assistant who shares the same goals as myself to win a championship.

Be careful of spending expectations. Your media contract next year will be $60M.
