Family drama, Williams waived and DFA.(44.24)

The breaking point finally occurred that likely should have occurred years ago. Omaha GM made the decision to waive his younger brother, Jake Williams, placing him on irrevocable waivers that will either lead to another club claiming him or Williams likely spending the rest of his time in the minor leagues.

Williams who has a glove that can compete with the best of them, never materialized after being selected with the 29th overall pick in the 2034 draft by Omaha. Williams has a career 41 OPS+ in 1,014 plate appearances. He managed to hit 41 home runs, but his .186/.217/.349 triple slash clearly does not play at the top level.

“It’s always a tough decision to move on from a player, but this one is especially tough for obvious reasons.” Said GM Justin Niles. “Jake knows that there will always be an opportunity within our organization in the coaching ranks when he decides to hang up his cleats. His performance was not due to lack of effort as he consistently put in long hours and was a team leader for this organization.”

Williams was likely set to be a free agent at the end of year as he currently has 5 years and 133 days of major league service time. At age 28, it’s likely that Williams can catch on elsewhere, with a potential venture overseas in 2045. For now, Williams must wait and see if a team claims him or if Omaha outright trades him to a team beforehand.

My custom ammie Robert Menzies, using my middle name and step father’s name (I have no family to recreate), seems to be doing well but my imaginary relative, Nigel Laverick II, is languishing in Rookie ball having been brought back from the UMEBA

My custom ammy of my son rejected me a few years ago and went to college. I think he'll be in the draft again next year, but I am going to try to keep from taking him.
