Eduardo González
"Obviously, getting my 3000th hit means a lot to me and my family. This is a big deal. But right now, we are in the middle of a pennant race. It's been 12 years since we hoisted a Division Championship banner. Every day, every game, we are focused on winning, from the owner down to the ball boy. Some day, after I retire, I'll appreciate these souvenirs, but for now I can only appreciate Ws.
"Today we played a fine ball club. The Crawdads are breathing down our necks. It's hard in this league to win on the road, but we need to find a way to make it happen. Losing 3 of 4 to a division rival is not acceptable. I'm glad we're headed home."
With that, González headed for the door.
