Nelson Thompson (5-0) has become the face of Montreal's "Bush League Rotation," with his #13 jersey flying off the shelves of the team store. Subsequent to posting his fifth win In Edmonton on Thursday, he learned that he had been named the Johnson League Rookie of the Month. After toiling in obscurity for twelve years in the minor leagues, Thompson was very emotional as he talked to the press. "Pitching in the big leagues has been my dream as long as I can remember. This honor means a lot to me, but it is really a tribute to my teammates and coaches, as well. Our catchers, our fabulous defense, our bullpen, and, of course, the great run support ... they all played a part in this."
In April, Thompson was 4-0, with a 1.60 ERA over 33.2 innings, notching 17 strikeouts.
