2056.07: Schultz Dominates During First Week in Brewster

The San Fernando Bears have played streaky baseball in 2056 and over the last month in particular. Dating back to May 3rd the Bears saw streaks of 4L, 3W, 6L, 8W, and 5W. A key contribution to that most recent winning streak was the major league debut of Michael Schultz. In his debut against Portland on June 3rd, Schultz went 4-4 with 2 doubles and 2 home runs. The 11th ranked prospect in the game stayed hot the rest of the week as he accumulated a .409/.458/1.227 batting line. Needless to say, Schultz is in the BBA to stay and could be a major contributor as the Bears make a longshot chase for the playoffs.

In other news of note, the Bears recalled another top prospect in Candrata Parmar. After rapidly improving his game as a reliever in 2053-2054 Parmar was tried as a starting pitcher. The conversion looked promising early but an injury wiped out nearly the entire 2055 campaign. He did get to make his major league debut last September, pitching 6.2 innings with a 1.35 ERA. While competing for a spot in the rotation this spring Parmar once again fell victim to injury. We challenged him to build up his innings in AAA and he proved effective, tossing 31.2 innings with a 2.27 ERA. The #57 overall prospect in the league threw 2 innings on 6/6 against Portland before leaving with a minor injury.
