2056.04: Bear Cubs - San Fernando's Best Prospects

"A" prospects are can't miss prospects whose floor is major league regular. "B" prospects are good prospects whose celing can be quite high and the floor is almost certainly a decently long trial run in the majors. "C" prospects can have high ceilings but their floor is washing out in the minor leagues.

A Prospects
LF Michael Schultz - A-

Keeping Michael Schultz from being an A or A+ prospect is an average hit tool and mediocre defensive abilities. The rest of his offensive profile ranges from very good to elite.

B Prospects
SS Etugrul Inonu - B
SP Keith Mays - B-
SP Candrata Parmar - B-

Inonu will eventually play defense elsewhere on the infield but he should hit... Mays and Parmar would be half a grade higher if it weren't for their makeup and injury proneness, respectively.

C Prospects
C Zhial-Haq bin Dhul Fiqar - C+
SP Morris Chapa - C+
RF Vio Gal - C+
RF Tommy Harrison - C+
SP Omar Thind - C
C Dale Olds - C
CF Alonso Martinez - C
SP Javier Duarte - C
LF Frank Jardine - C
LF Tynan Rose - C
SP Ken Bautista - C
3B José Pérez - C-
CF Miguel Montero - C-
SP Jim Fields - C-
SP Antonio Garcia - C-
SP Juan Torres - C-

Chapa is a safe prospect who steadily rose thru the minors and has solid across-the-board ratings.... ZHbDF doesn't have a huge ceiling but he looks like he'll be at least a BBA backup thanks to hitting from the left side... Gal and Harrison are ready to hit in the majors now but are blocked on the San Fernando roster... Duarte and Thind still need a lot more development but they have mid-rotation potential... Olds is like a right-handed ZhbDF... Alonso Martinez still has one of the highest ceilings in my system but now 24 years old he's running out of time... Jardine has draft pedigree, tools, and even some production but he's a tweener... Rose has the low ceiling of being a short-side platoon bat but he's already in the majors... Bautista is half a grade above the other starting pitchers in this group thanks to being a southpaw and already reaching AA... Miguel Montero has consistently hit and should be able to play all three outfield positions effectively but missed 2055 due to injury and might stall out as a short-side platoon outfielder... the other C- prospects all have enough ceiling to avoid "honorable mention" treatment but have warts and require bumps to reach the bigs.

Honorable Mention:
SS José Villa
SS John McLeod
C Josh Brooks
CF Kamatari Kino
C Juan Suárez

Any 9 range shortstop (Villa flirted with this rating for a sim) with a bat worth a lick warrants an honorable mention... The same is true of catchers with 8 potential power... Kino and Suarez are still young and have decent draft pedigree.
