Atlantic City Press Issue 1

Post by cyrisnyte » Thu Sep 29, 2011 12:05 am

Moving past the normal news to the important stuff in this issue...sports.

Atlantic City announced today that they are going to take a gamble on Jeff Shipman as the new GM of the Gamblers. Jeff has minimal experience but seems to talk a good game. Only time will tell what Jeff can do with these Gamblers who are coming off a 65-97 mark in the Atlantic. The Gamblers finished 19.0 games behind the Buffalo Bison.

The Gamblers will be looking to LF Ross White to help lead the way this upcoming season. Jeff has also mentioned that he has high hopes for ace closer Art Messer to help a team that had a 5.05 ERA average as a team.

Jeff said he expected more from last year's 1st round pick Corey Hill. "We expect more than 25 innings of baseball to evaluate a 1st round pick" Jeff was quoted as saying.

Rumor has it that Jeff has already made a vow to clean up the organization and get some youth and talent on the Gamblers roster. Only time will tell if Jeff can really turn this team around.

Our 1st prediction for the Gamblers this year?

50 - 112...if they get lucky!

Hill looks like one of those "head scratcher" first round picks. A middle reliever at best.

However, you've got Ross White on your team and you've gotta be happy about that.

Hopefully for ATC, Ross White will play a full season again this year.
