Position Player of the Sim:
Greg Clover
A solid week from Clover as he continues his solid Mounties career. The 26 year old picked up 7 hits in 25 at bats including a homerun and 2 RBIs. Clover has really earned in his way into the hearts of Mounties fans, and hopefully an extension could be worked out in the future.
Pitcher of the Sim:
Gamal bin Badr
He pitched his second shutout of the season, in a close 1-0 win over Louisville, as well as a decent 5 inning, 3 run game against Des Moines. He's been having a great season.
Dud of the Sim:
Miguel Montero
A complete polar opposite from last year, Montero has looked woeful. This sim he picked up 2 hits in 21 at bats. Whilst his corner outfield defense is still elite, the bat just needs to be better.
Transactions & Injuries:
The big news of the sim is an extension with newly acquired Juan Garcia. I'm pleased to announce the 28 year old has agreed to a six year, $36 million contract extension with the final two years being team options. It's $6 million AAV not front or back loaded. In terms of injuries Oskar Lojdahl should be returning from his DtD which should see Lucio Hernandez sent back to AAA. Zhi Li should also be back after next sim, which would be incredible timing to replace Montero in the outfield.
Next Sim:
We finish off our series against Louisville before having an off day. We then return home to face off against Omaha before hitting the road to start a series against Madison.
