In a shocking move that has currently left fans split, The Vancouver Mounties have announced the signing of All-Star catcher Todd Tatlock to a 3 year $35,200,000 contract. Tatlock, aged 34, is coming off his fourth All-Star selection as well as championship with the Nashville Bluebirds.
"I like what they've built here, think we have a solid group of youngster and vets to push for a playoff run this year." remarks Tatlock.
He currently supports a .284 AVG which could be beneficial for a team that finished deadlast in Batting Average last season. Tatlock is also known as one of the best defensive catchers in the BBA, winning the Diamond glove award at catcher 5 times, and could've potentially had more if it wasn't for one problem. His injury history. Take one look and you can see tons of injuries he's suffered, many fear it could be before long he suffers another major one. But for the Mounties they felt as it was a necessary gamble, as this move will cause a potential shift in their long lockdown position at catcher..
Davenport Hinkle was slated to start his 13th season, and he even came off a surprising 3 WAR season when many around the league had written him off. But as he enters the season aged 36, you wonder how long it can last. He's seen his defensive ability deteriorate as of late and his ability to make contact with the ball has slowly worn down even though he still has good power.
"We're extremely happy to have made this deal for Tatlock, but Hinkle is still very much in our plans." said GM Aaron Wharram.
"By all means Hinkle will go down as a Mountie Hall of famer, but we felt at this time we needed make a move for his potential replacement if he decides to retire past this year."
This does mean that the young Marcos Cordova will have at least one more year of AAA ball, where he is rumoured to lineup alongside 2059 First Round Pick Mitchell Goater.
We reached out to Davenport Hinkle for comment. He declined.

Todd's youngest daughter is getting to the age where I may see him on the volleyball circuit this year. I am going to have to tell him to work out more so he is less injury prone.
