Another year, another last series to decide if we're going to make the postseason or not," I say to my assistant GM after our embarrassing 6-0 loss to the pesky San Fernando Bears. With that both of our teams are now tied with a 79-79 record with the final wildcard spot coming down to just four more games, and it won't be easy.

"We're playing against Valencia right? Aren't they still in it?"

"Sort of, they'll need to sweep us and hope the Bears get swept to get the final spot, or if the Bears lose three they play game 163."

"Got it, so they're going to be giving every they have to pull that off. Do we know who the Bears are playin-"

Oh no...

"What is it sir?"

"The San Fernando Bears are playing Portland.."

"So that means.."

"We have to cheer for Portland."

I start panicking, Portland is already in the playoffs and could easily bench all of his starters to screw the team he hates most over..

"But wait!" I say to myself.

"Portland needs to win too, they haven't clinched homefield in the Geohegan round yet, and considering they're 50-27 at home this year I'd imagine they'd want that advantage in the playoffs."

It's crazy how we're even doing this well in the first place after our teardown last year but hey, it wouldn't be Mounties baseball without a little stress to end the season. In 2055 we missed the playoffs by one game, 2056 we made it in during the final week after a 7-0 sim. 2058 was also a last second playoff addition.
